Name: Henry (also Hank, Hankle, Hennricks, Hennicle, Golden Boy)
Breed: Jack Russell / Corgi (?) mix
Likes: Peanut butter, walks, raw carrots and celery, walks, sitting in the sun, waiting for a squirrel to fall out of a tree (hey, food falls off the kitchen counter, why not out of a tree?), napping on my mom’s tummy while she lies on the couch, and especially walks.
Dislikes: Rainy weather, cold weather, my older brother Maxie barking in my face because he wants my bed (he’s such a cranky old man!), and fire engine sirens (they make me howl).
About Henry: We adopted Henry from the Homeless Animal Rescue Team (HART) when he was two years old. His previous family gave him up because of “allergies,” but we suspect they were mostly allergic to Henry’s habit of chewing on shoes, regardless of whether there were feet in them. He doesn’t chew shoes anymore, although sometimes he gets inappropriately affectionate with the sofa’s throw pillows. Henry has an older brother, Maxie, and an older sister, Tasha. Tasha and Maxie both think they’re the alpha dog, but Henry’s such a mellow guy that he’s happy to be the beta, gamma, or omega dog, as long as he gets his share of the treats.
