Name: Ember & Mazzy

Breed: Domestic Shorthairs

Likes: Anything string/rope-like, chilling in the hammocks in our catio, chattering at the birds & squirrels, treats!, our human’s lap, chasing my sibling, jumping from the floor into my human’s arms to be carried around like a baby on her hip (Ember), climbing into the walls to hide and scare my human (Mazzy), greeting our human at the door when she comes home, cardboard boxes, our scratch post (which we fight over to sit on the top), jumping off the staircase ledge onto the cabinet below to make a very loud noise and scare the humans.

Play with us and give us more treats!

Dislikes: When our human works on the couch in the evenings (so Ember knocks things off the counter to get her attention), the vacuum cleaner, waiting for meal time, closed closet doors, nail trims (especially Mazzy).

About Ember & Mazzy: Ember & Mazzy (aka dynamic duo, twin terrors, terrible twosome) were adopted from City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue in January 2024, just a couple of months after my 18.5 year old kitty, Milo, crossed over the rainbow bridge. As 8 month-old littermates, they were a little shy at first, but then no nook, cranny, shelf, closet, or high ledge was off limits! Always under foot, full of energy, and in to everything! Now every morning after their zoomies around the house and breakfast, Mazzy and Ember wait at the window next to my desk until I open it to let them out in their 2-story catio to heckle the squirrels and birds, no matter how hot or cold it may be.

Lin at Sit-A-Pet has been taking the best care of the twins – they greet her at the door, and she even tolerates Ember climbing on her shoulders while she makes their breakfast! Lin has been the best since she started watching my kitties in 2012 (she also took care of my previous kitties, Milo & Elvy).
