Name: Cosmo

Breed: Domestic short hair

Likes: Greeting visitors at the door and entertaining them by catching tossed kibble in his mouth; playing in the bathtub; dragging around an old, ragged Santa hat (his quest is to pull it all the way up the basement stairs, but so far, no success); watching bird videos on an iPad and real birds on the deck, having his ears scratched, licking his human’s hair; and of course, playing with his little brother Jelly. Oh, and napping.

I love Christmas! Not because of the gifts, but because of the boxes and packing paper. Nap sites galore!

Dislikes: Emergence of the pet carrier — that can only mean one thing — a trip to the vet!

About Cosmo: Cosmo was found, by a good soul, abandoned and alone in a Virginia barn when he was a couple of months old. He was taken to Middleburg Humane Foundation and when I spotted him there, it was love at first sight. He is very lively and a bit comical, just like his namesake, the character played by Donald O’Connor in “Singin’ in the Rain.” Cosmo is now 8 years old and a role model and great big brother to 2 year old Jelly, who joined the family at the start of the shutdown. Both boys love Bella and all of the Sit-A-Pet care takers, who have been pampering their feline forebears for 36 years! We love Sit-A-Pet!
