Meet Penelope!

Name: Penelope, a.k.a. Pen, Sweet Pea, Pretty Princess Penelope, Skunk-kitty

Breed: felis catus beautimus

Likes: Most especially her brother Brox, her mommy, being brushed, freeze-dried chicken treats, plastic spiral toys, carrying her stuffed mousie around the apartment and wailing at 3 a.m., sniffing the breeze, almost everything but…

I’m beautiful. I don’t need to be smart.

Dislikes: Being held, which is tragic, as she is a cat made to be held.

About Penelope: I adopted Pen from Homeward Trails in 2009, shortly after losing my darling cats Dulcie and Zana to cancer within a few months of each other. My remaining cat, Brox, and I really needed a new feline friend, and Pen turned out to be the absolute perfect addition. If I had to describe her in one word, that word would be “soft.” She is soft inside and out. Her fur is the most amazing fur–it’s like silky baby bunny fuzz. Petting her is so luxurious. She’s just as soft inside: she’s a gentle soul who loves to be petted or brushed for as long as you can stand it (after you’ve touched her, believe me, you’ll clear your schedule and stand it for quite some time). She adores her brother Brox and he adores her right back. They’re like an old married couple: they have little squabbles from time to time, but most of the time, they’re just happy to be together, hanging out on the bed, napping on the sofa, playing, giving each other mohawks, and even eating out of the same bowl at the same time. I’ve given up on feeding them separately!

Why does Penelope deserve to be Sit-A-Pet of the month? She’s The Softest Kitty in the World.
