About Buttercup: Buttercup was adopted from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter in 2018 along with her “brother” Sambuca. She’s a 7-pound, high-energy, talkative, curious cutie pie. She loves to liberate treats from her ladybug puzzle toy, earning her the title of “Smartest Girl Kitty Ever.” She’s an orange speed devil who turns into a feline missile as she launches herself four steps at a time up the staircase and slides around on the wood floors like she’s in a cartoon. She might hide behind the desk when you first arrive for a visit…but rest assured, she’s quick to circulate and show off once she knows you’ll give her the attention she deserves. She’s snuggly on her terms but she also has a full-time job monitoring operations around the house. Buttercup was actually her name when we met at the shelter, and it just seemed like the perfect fit She’s proud to be a female orange kitty and will tell you all about it if you give her the chance….
