October 2026 Pet of the Month
Name: Max and Mia
Breed: Domestic Short Hairs
Likes: Max likes Lexi (our youngest daughter) Mia likes fuzzy balls. They both LOVE CHURUS!
“I run this show” – Mia
Dislikes: Max dislikes loud sounds. Mia dislikes having her nails cut.
About Max and Mia: Our cats came into our lives when we were healing from a broken heart. Our 1st kitty passed away unexpectedly. I contacted the Homeless Animals Rescue League (HART) to start thinking about the process of adopting again. I was contacted by a foster mom that said she had the perfect sibling kittens for us. And the rest is history. They are the best cats. Friendly and loving. They made our family whole again.

Testimonials
Sit-A-Pet clients like to speak for themselves…
Twinkie & Happy
“Twinkie” and “Happy”, pictured here surveying the world beyond their back door, are the second generation of McKay cats that Sit-A-Pet has cared for. We found Sit-A-Pet ten years ago when we moved to Vienna. We have been dedicated clients ever since!!! Sit-A-Pet’s reliability and excellent care, including nurse-like attention through multiple chronic illnesses (with the three “girls” in our first generation), have made all the difference in the world when we go away! Our girls are well cared for (and, in fact, often eat better for Sit-A-Pet), and we can relax!!

Sam
Sit-A-Pet took care of my lovely cat Anna and her swaggering brother Sam (pictured here) most of their lives during my frequent absences, nurturing them through their adult lives and their declines and deaths. In the last years, Sam was very physically challenged — though he didn’t know it — and he relished the care and affection he got from Sit-A-Pet. A new pair of cats now grace my abode — and I continue to call on Sit-A-Pet with the greatest confidence. Oh, and my house is also happy in Sit-A-Pet’s Care… did I mention the time a basement water pipe sprang a leak while I was in Copenhagen? I learned about that only when I got back, and it was already fixed!

Carmen
As near as we can tell our Blue-fronted Amazon, Carmen, is 35. That means Sit-A-Pet’s wonderful sitters have been looking after her since she was a teenager of 17, to our great satisfaction and, apparently, to hers.

Sasha
Sit-A-Pet staff have looked after our family pets for over twenty years, whenever we’ve been away. The animals adore the special attention, and I feel better knowing my dogs (and home) are in the best of hands. Debbie and her staff are knowledgeable, compassionate and highly professional.

Charlie
I can’t say enough good things about Sit-A-Pet! Marlene has been taking wonderful care of my cat Charlie for six years. I never worry when I travel, because Marlene not only comes over everyday and feeds Charlie, but she visits for a while and plays with him. All the Sit-A-Pet sitters who have cared for my cats during the past 12 years, are conscientious and ultra responsible about the comfort and safety of my pets AND the security of my home. Most importantly, all the people who work for Sit-A-Pet are true animal lovers!

Cara & Mia
Over 12 years we’ve taken many trips, and we’ve enjoyed them all the much more because Sit-A-Pet has always been there looking after our cats. The level of caring and service is unequaled. We have used Sit-A-Pet exclusively for 12 years. While we never like leaving our cats, we have no fear doing so because of the fine service Sit-A-Pet provides. Our cats accept Jan their pet-sitter from Sit-A-Pet as one of the family. For 12 years they’ve received nothing but the finest, most attentive service we could imagine. It truly makes vacations and trips more enjoyable knowing they are being well taken care of.
