December: Scooter

Likes: Were Scooter able to testify he would likely list being brushed and taking naps as his favorite things. Donna, his Sit-A-Pet sitter, is challenged every visit by Scooter's endless appetite for brushing. Scooter is so vocal in his pleas; we have encouraged Donna not to fall prey to his demands for more strokes.

Nap more... stress less.

November: Smudgeface

Likes: I like to wander in the house and play with catnip toys and lie in front of the fire. (The indoor cats are afraid of me even though I'm tiny). I'm not very food motivated, but a little piece of leftover chicken is a nice treat.

I know that I have people that love
me, but I really want to stay outside!

October: Leopold and Figaro

Likes: We love to "stop, drop and roll" at your feet for a belly rub and massage. Our favorite time of day is bed time, when we race up the steps for our "snack treats". Then its play time with our feather string and bell ball toys. We love each other so much. Often times we curl up together and preen each other. We also love to play tag throughout the house at all hours of the day and night!

In unison: "He/She did it!"

September: Lily

Likes: Human peoples, anything sassy(!), paw-dicures, never ending water fountains, heating pads, Fancy Feast ("Only the Best!"), 22-hour naps, water left in the shower.

Dislikes: An empty plate, cold floors, lack of affection, fighting with her kitteh brother ("Cat!").

More is better!

August: Archie Jackson

Likes: Nose bumping Mom and Dad to get attention, those nice Sit-A-Pet people checking in on us, playing with fuzzy toys, chasing sister Hazel in the house and the garden, leaping on anything that moves and then curling up in a big furry ball with sister Hazel...and having serious bath time together.

Dislikes: Being ignored, waiting too long for dinner.

Life is good. Meow!

July: Lily and Luvy

Likes: Lily is an extrovert who loves people (shes the chocolate Persian). Luvy is more shy, but is sweet (shes the silver Persian), loves to be combed and eat her treats. They both love Dea, their Sit-A-Pet kitty sitter.

Dislikes: Lily and Luvy hate baths and blow drying but they know theres a cost to being beautiful.

We run this household and have
our owner wrapped around our
paws and tails!

June: Rocky

Likes: Being outdoors, either just lying there in the sun or the shade, the heat or the cold, or walking fast for an hour with Mom and her friends up and down the hills in Rock Creek Park, food, any food, any time, having his tummy scratched.

Dislikes: Other animals (except Mom taught an old dog a new trick - she gives me a cookie so I won't bark - so I kind of look for other animals), seeing Mom get out a suitcase (even though I love Sandy from Sit-A-Pet).

Do youreally have to go to work?

May: Nikita

Likes: Tuna, petting, brushing, and reminiscing about hunting voles in her youth.

About Nikita: I dont look it, but Im 19 years old. I came to my humans in Portland, Oregon, the day after Christmas, 1993. I am named in honor of St. Nicholas. I was about 9 months old at the time. I begged for admittance at the back door. My first meal was leftover turkey. I have moved four times, including a cross-country flight from Portland to Washington six years ago, under my papa's seat.

Look! I caught a mouse!

April: Milo

Likes: I love humans. They are the best creatures in my kingdom. I get them to rub my belly all the time - which is my second favorite thing in the world. They also make for nice mattresses. My pet sitter calls me "Velcro Cat" because I require 100 percent of her attention. When new humans come into my castle, they have to pay a toll right at the door, which is a minimum of five minute belly rubbing. Food is also right up there among things I like. Dinner time should be family time so my two humans and I usually sit together - I have my own chair at the table, mind you.

I don't mean to be demanding, but........

March: Harley

Likes: There is nothing I like better than to curl up on the couch next to Mom. I stretch my paws out across her lap and I prefer to put my head on her hand (particularly if she has that laptop thing there). In my opinion she does not spend enough time on the couch, 24-7 would be sufficient. In addition to being a cuddler, I am a foodie. I will try anything Mom has. I must say, keep your yogurt, I like a bit of salt and crunch. I particularly like it when Mom holds it and lets me tear off pieces. I find Cheese-its to be quite yummy.

Is it time to eat? I am so cute, it must be time to eat.

February: Rousseau

Likes: I am a very clever and talkative blue-point Siamese who knows how to argue very persuasively until I get exactly what I want. For example, when I want food or lap time and mom does not respond immediately to my insistent verbal demands or nudges, I jump on the highest point of the sideboard in the dining room and swipe my paw at a picture hanging on the wall until I knock it askew. I then give mom that "so, you think you can win" look.

"We Are Siamese, If You Please" (my favorite song), "there is no finer cat than I am." From Lady and the Tramp

January: Cleo

Likes: I got my nickname Soccer Kitty because I can kick anything off a table, shelf or counter. I just walk by and swat everything onto the floor. My roommate doesn't seem to appreciate my talents as she always clears things away before I get to them. Guess it has something to do with the marble clock I knocked off a dresser and almost hit her with. I also play fetch. This seems to entertain the roommate. She throws the ball, I get it, bring it back in my mouth and then I get petted and extra treats. When my roommate comes back each day I hear her coming and stand right by the door so she won't miss me when she enters.

Don't bother me - it's naptime
